One more sustainable home design presented by Rural Design Architects. This time it is located on the Isle of North Uist, precisely in Clachan Sands. Clachan Lodge, a holiday house with six bedrooms built with a touch of traditional elements on its design. Make this house comfortable to live for you and your family.

With 220m2 on it size, the house was built with the right compromise on location. North Uist itself, is the tenth largest Scottish island and the largest island Thirteenth Surrounding Great Britain. With its location in the form of islands, featuring beautiful scenery that can be viewed through large windows installed in the living room. By their character in works, the architect built this house with crisp and contemporary approach; however it is always grounded by an understanding of history and a respect for the environment.

The fresh air that blows from the coast, was well received by the high and adequate structure of the house, to circulate air throughout the house perfectly. Actually, This large building has been broken down into discrete elements following traditional forms. A traditional slated and harled element contains all the bedroom spaces, while the open plan living, dining and kitchen space is enclosed within a contrasting timber-clad lean-to.
