Modern House Transformed from The Grandparents Legacy
Always fun to see how a building transformed. With the genius of the architect, the end result of a development project or restoration can be stunning with unpredictable results. Like the renovation project by CplusC below. Located in Bexley-Sydney, this house named as Bexley Residence. This building, originally was a residence built by the grandfather of current owner. But now, through a process of careful renovation, the building was transformed into a modern and contemporary residence. We like the changes made, especially in the front room that is so open, allowing air and light came in, flooding the house.
Actually there are many open access at this house. Wide openings between rooms and numerous transparent window glasses, comes as easy access to the outside views, as there is no barrier between the home and outdoor environment. Another plus, that there is a pond in the middle of the house that appears as a kind of variation in the indoor garden. Unique detail.
Here the explanation from C plus C about their renovation projects.”Built by the client’s grandparents in the 1920s, renovations have transformed the original federation building into a light-filled contemporary home. The original house is now a private wing of bedrooms, with the new wing that opens up onto the pool and courtyard designed to accommodate up to 50 family members on special occasions. A custom-made jarrah dining table with complementing stools, designed and built by CplusC fit perfectly in the new dining area. Under-floor heating and thermal mass from the polished concrete floor keeps the home warm in winter. Cross breezes flow across courtyard pond and through the home keeping it cool and comfortable in the summer months.”
