Feel The Atmosphere of Substance, Luxury and Elegance at Christcurch
Named as Establishment Apartments, the project came to Warren and Mahoney Architecture by the order from Winters Road trust. Located on a prominent corner site in central Christchurch, when this modern apartment completed, the building architectural shows-as their tag line-the sense of substance, luxury and elegance.
Based on the architect’s site, this is descriptions about the building. This distinctive 11-storey building accommodates seven luxury apartments. Large single-floor apartments of around 300m2 make up the lower five floors of the building, with two double-storey penthouses above. Each apartment is designed for expansive living, with large outdoor spaces, large bedrooms, and spacious bathrooms. Car parking is located at both basement and ground floor levels.
Also, responding to the site’s physical constraints – low-rise residential neighbours to the west, and complex town planning rules – the objective was to design a building with a sense of substance, while also creating a feeling of luxury and elegance.
The building’s mass is expressed in simple bold forms. A limited palette of materials and color answers the client’s desire for a timeless, modern building, appropriate to its urban location. Large terraces, bounded by planters, open to the north and west of all apartments. And the interior design and detailing of kitchens and bathrooms, executed in conjunction with the shell, continues the understated classic-modern theme.
